O how wonderful it is to be able to give back to our Medically Confined Veterans, those brave individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving our country and protecting our freedoms. It fills our hearts with joy and gratitude to contribute in any way we can to brighten their days and show our appreciation for their sacrifices.
Already, we have baked a variety of delicious treats and given some of them away, sharing warmth and joy through our homemade goodies.
Each cookie, cake, and loaf of bread carries with it not just flavor, but a message of love and support to our community.
In our ongoing efforts to support these heroes, we are excited to announce the grand opening of The Hero Bake Stand on September 6 at 11 AM, and we will remain open until we are sold out!
The First Saturday of Each Month We Will OPEN!
This stand will serve as a hub for our baking efforts, allowing us to raise funds and gather resources for our veterans. We invite everyone to come out, enjoy some delicious treats, and help us in our mission to give back.
Robert dedicated two full days to assembling the Stand, showcasing his commitment and passion for this cause. His hard work has truly paid off, and we are grateful for the support of Vince Serritella, who not only assisted in the setup but also generously donated the racks that will hold our baked goods.
This collaboration exemplifies the spirit of community and teamwork that drives our efforts.
How blessed we are to have such a supportive network of individuals and businesses rallying around our veterans.
The generosity we have witnessed is a testament to the compassion that exists within our community.
At The Hero Bake Stand, we will be offering a delightful assortment of breads, cakes, cookies, herbs, and much more! Each item is made with care and is designed to bring a little joy to those who receive them. This year, we have set an ambitious goal of donating close to 1,100 stockings filled with goodies and thoughtful gifts to our veterans, ensuring that they feel remembered and cherished during the holiday season.
So far, we have secured a few locations ready to host donation bins for stocking supplies, including our local St. Charles Public Library, which will serve as a collection point for community members to contribute. A big thank you to Joanne Surratt for her wonderful suggestion to utilize this space for our cause!
Additionally, we have established a bin at the Veterans Center located in St. Charles at 311 N 2nd St #109, St. Charles, IL 60174.
This center is a vital gathering place for veterans, and we are grateful to all the Posts for allowing us to have a bin there.
It is important for veterans seeking camaraderie to know that All Vet Posts meet there, and the center is open on Saturdays and Wednesday mornings until 12 noon, providing a welcoming environment for our heroes. You Are WELCOME!
We will begin filling the stockings on Saturday after Thanksgiving, and our first drop-off will take place on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. This timeline is crucial as we aim to ensure that every veteran receives a stocking filled with love and appreciation during this festive season.
If you know of anyone who can assist us by hosting a donation bin, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at BeAHeroToAHero7@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can call 630-301-1741 and speak directly to Robert Phillips, who is coordinating our efforts.
Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
Thank you all for your unwavering support. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday at the Hero Bake Stand! You can find us just half a block south of the Salvation Army on 7th Avenue in Saint Charles—keep an eye out for the signs guiding you to our location.
1731 South 7th Avenue Saint Charles :)

Blessings to all, Robert and Theresa
